Support for Families & Loved Ones

Loving someone with a substance use disorder can feel overwhelming, confusing and isolating.

You may feel like you’ve tried everything, pleading, setting rules, backing off, stepping in, and still nothing seems to change

You might be asking yourself:

  • Am I helping or making it worse?
  • Why do they keep doing this?
  • What am I supposed to do now?

CRAFT & ITC

Community Reinforcement and Family Training

and Invitation to Change

These approaches are grounded in motivational interviewing, compassion, and real-life understanding of behavior, not confrontation, blame or ultimatums.

This isn’t about “fixing” your loved one.

It’s about giving you the tools, understanding, and support to navigate this in a way that is healthier, for you and for them.

In our groups, you will learn how to:

  • Communicate in ways that reduce conflict and increase connection.
  • Set healthy, realistic boundaries without guilt.
  • Understand how substance use behaviors make sense, and what’s driving them.
  • Respond in ways that can encourage change and treatment engagement.
  • Take care of yourself without feeling like you’re giving up.

Because your well-being matters too.

Why This Approach Works

Both CRAFT and Invitation to Change are built on a simple but powerful idea:

People are more likely to change when they feel understood, not judged.

By changing how you respond, communicate, and care for yourself, you can:

  • Reduce chaos and conflict in your life.
  • Increase the likelihood your loved one seeks help.
  • Feel more confident and grounded in your role.

You just need a place to start.

When you change how you respond,

you change what’s possible.
